Roosevelt gives here his own interpretation of the classic theme, treated by numerous painters, etchers and drawers, since the middle age to nowadays. The difference with the work of those artists is that the Temptations are not assembled in a single composition, but represented in a series of five independent pieces. Jerome Bosch was certainly the main source of inspiration to him, as we can state by the presence of musical instruments and anthropomorfic architectures. |
